Child’s Pose: A soothing resting pose that gently releases the back.

Child’s Pose or Balasana is a quiet resting posture used as a counterpose after the Headstand and backward bends. It gently releases the back and helps the body settle before moving on to the next posture.

The slight forward bend gives the spine a soothing stretch. It also helps relax the upper body and brings a refreshing flow of blood to the brain. Once the body is in position, no effort is required to hold the pose, making it ideal for deep relaxation.
