Advanced Teachers’ Training Course (ATTC)

Deepen your practice and understanding of yoga through this 300-hour training course

The four-week Sivananda Yoga Advanced Teachers’ Training Course (ATTC) gives graduates of the Teachers’ Training Course the opportunity to go further in their practice and study.

Founded by Swami Vishnudevananda in 1978, the course explores the subtler dimensions of yoga. Advanced asanas and pranayama are combined with the study of Vedanta, Raja Yoga, Sanskrit and the classical paths of yoga. The structured daily programme creates the conditions for concentrated practice and a deeper experience of spiritual life.

The ATTC is more than a continuation of your first training. It is a time to strengthen your sadhana, return to the foundations of yoga and allow the teachings to become more firmly rooted in daily life.

A Month of Intensive Practice

The course follows the traditional ashram rhythm established by Swami Vishnudevananda. Each day begins early with pranayama, followed by meditation and mantra chanting. Advanced asana classes help you refine the twelve basic postures and explore classical variations with greater awareness. Lectures open new perspectives on the mind, the Self and the purpose of spiritual practice.

This combination of study and direct experience supports a more subtle understanding of yoga. As your own practice deepens, you also gain greater clarity and confidence in sharing the teachings with others.

One day each week is lecture-free, although meditation and Karma Yoga continue. The schedule may vary slightly according to the location.
