Teaching Kids
Home > Training > Yoga Teacher Training > Certificate courses > Teaching Yoga to Children
Children who learn yoga at an early age have a healthy head start in life.
As a yoga instructor, knowing how to playfully adapt yoga to younger age groups can help improve children’s motor skills, concentration and self-confidence.
This training will also explore how regular yoga practice can help manage hyperactivity and stress in children.
The primary goal is to make yoga enjoyable and fun for kids.
As a participant in the Sivananda children’s yoga further training, you will be empowered to introduce playful exercises that engage children, such as stretching like a cat or roaring like a lion.
You will learn how to teach kids yoga in a fun way, covering aspects like strength, flexibility, correct breathing, concentration, and relaxation. This provides a valuable “toolbox” that children can carry with them throughout life.
You will explore simple and inventive yoga poses tailored to different age groups, and share ideas on how yoga can be incorporated into family life.
Additionally, you will learn how to introduce mantra chanting for early meditation practice and share spiritual stories to inspire young minds, creating a well-rounded, engaging yoga experience for children.
Completion of the Sivananda Yoga Teachers’ Training Course.
Graduates of other teacher trainings: please contact tyrol@sivananda.net (for courses in Austria) or orleans@sivananda.net (for courses in France) regarding eligibility.
In the training we show you theoretically, but above all practically and playfully, how you can adapt the yoga lessons to the group and the respective age of the children (small children to teenagers).
The following certificate courses are offered at the Sivananda Yoga Retreat House, Austria and at the Ashram de Yoga Sivananda in Orleans, France.
